Catching some college football now that the tour is over.
Zach Bryan recently wrapped up his Quittin’ Time tour, and he’s been laying pretty low lately after creating some controversy on Twitter for saying he likes Kanye West’s music better than Taylor Swift’s. (He’s not wrong, but not the point here).
Anyway, Zach apparently decided to catch some college football today and support one of his buddies.
Earlier this week, Marshall University announced that one of Zach’s bandmates and background vocalists, Elijah Gastelum, would be performing the national anthem at the Thundering Herd’s homecoming game against Appalachian State. Zach shared the announcement on his Instagram, showing support for his buddy:

And yesterday, the Herd shared a post on social media teasing “guest appearances” at the homecoming game against their rival – with the teaser set to Zach’s song “American Nights.”

Well it turns out that “guest appearance” was from Zach himself, who showed up to Huntington, West Virginia to support his bandmate and check out the game from the sideline.

It turns out Zach actually has a connection to the area, with his manager Jay-Michael Cisco being from nearby Kenova, West Virginia.
And as a Marshall fan and graduate myself (I was also the mascot for Marshall back in my college days but we won’t talk about that), it’s pretty cool to see a massive artist like Zach on the sidelines (and in a suite) at Joan C. Edwards Stadium.

I also can’t help but wonder his his friend, and WVU fan, Charles Wesley Godwin feels about seeing Zach supporting the other school in West Virginia. Maybe we can get Chuck in green and white at some point too.
But anyway, welcome to Huntington, Zach. Make sure you get yourself a Tudor’s biscuit while you’re there.
Marshall plays at Ohio State this weekend.
Head coach Charles Huff say he’s trying to lure Buckeye players to transfer with an all-you-can eat NIL deal at Tudor’s Biscuit World.
