Giving fans a taste of what’s to come.

Since the announcement of Cross Canadian Ragweed’s reunion show at Oklahoma State University’s Boone Pickens Stadium, the internet has been chattering non-stop about the event. The event featuring Turnpike Troubadours will be held on April 12, 2025, and will also have musical support from other red dirt greats, The Great Divide, Stoney LaRue, and Jason Boland & the Stragglers.

A stacked lineup, some might say.

While Ragweed fans have been waiting for this moment since 2010, when the band broke up, a new wave of red dirt and country fans are also stoked at the possibility of seeing the legendary band.

While we are still many months away from The Boys from Oklahoma taking the Stillwater stage, they are giving fans a little sneak peek of what is in store.

During the recent Ohana Festival in Dana Point, California, the Turnpike Troubadours played their set before Sting took the headlining slot. During their set, Evan Felker brought out Cody Canada to perform a tune with them, and since his band, Cody Canada and the Departed, were not on the festival bill, we should have had our spidey senses tingling when he shared a picture in Dana Point, California.

Canada hopped on stage with Turnpike throughout for song, laying down one solid verse and helping out with the chorus for the remainder of the tune.

“Cody Canada, ladies and gentlemen!”

Evan Felker says to the crowd after Canada concludes his verse.

These Oklahoma boys sure know how to get down. By bringing their sound to the West Coast, they let California know Oklahoma makes some of the music in the business—past, present, and future.

I hope we get this collaboration again next spring. I can hear Boone Pickens singing along with Felker and Canada now.
