There’s nothing like getting lost in a good book.
Especially when it can help take your mind off something, like…I don’t know, the Dallas Cowboys getting their teeth kicked in at home by the Baltimore Ravens? Saying that might be a stretch, since Baltimore ended up doing their typical “blow-a-big-lead-in-the-4th-quarter” performance, but there for a while it was a complete beat down.
Entering into the fourth quarter, Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens were completely and comfortably in the driver’s seat with a commanding 28 to 6 lead. They started to play a little softer and less aggressively (as social media and Ravens fans have pointed out), which led to a Cowboys comeback that was exciting, but fell just short. Baltimore ended up squeaking out the win 28 to 25.
But during that time where “Big D” was down big and a win looked completely out of reach (in a way, it was), there were some Dallas Cowboys faithful sitting in the stands that weren’t so faithful anymore. I’d imagine some fans headed for the exits early, though we aren’t focusing in on them for this story.
We’re shining the spotlight on this Dallas Cowboys grandma that brought a book to the game – presumably in case things got ugly.
And when things did (Cowboys were down 28 to 6 with 11 minutes left in the third quarter), she whipped out her novel and got to reading. She paid for that seat for the entire duration of the game right? Might as well make it a productive trip to AT&T Stadium and knock out a couple of chapters.
