Not a great week for Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young.
The second-year QB was benched earlier this week in favor of veteran Andy Dalton, who will start this weekend as the Panthers head to Las Vegas to take on the Raiders.
And while his play has been lackluster to put it mildly, only time will tell if he might one day return as the starter and franchise quarterback he was drafted to be. After a brutal start to the season against the Saints, and then a dismal home opener loss to the Chargers last weekend, something needed to change.
Head coach Dave Canales is insistent that Bryce is still the franchise QB, and after how much the Panthers gave away to get the #1 draft pick and draft him a couple years ago, it seems like the goal should be to figure out the issue and eventually make Bryce the starter again.
If they don’t, the organization, lead by one of my least favorite people on the Earth in owner David Tepper, is going to look even worse, and more stupid, than they already do… if that’s somehow possible, but I’ve learned to stop asking that question when it comes to the Panthers.
Anywho, back to Bryce’s bad week. Eagle-eyed fans (pun very much intended, you’ll see why), discovered that Bryce’s girlfriend, Myra Gordon, is now his ex, as she was shown with Tyrese Maxey (who plays for the Philadelphia 76ers) at the Eagle’s game on Monday.
It’s unclear when the two split, I’m assuming it’s been at least a little while, but still… it’s gotta suck to see your ex-girlfriend on national TV with another athlete:

According to her Instagram bio, Myra is a real estate agent in LA, but she has tons of photos where she definitely looks more like a model… I mean, she’s absolutely gorgeous.
And it looks like Panthers fans found her account after seeing her on TV and realizing Bryce was no longer her boyfriend, and some of them are brutal… they’re sprinkled on photos throughout her account. Bless his heart, Bryce really can’t catch a break right now:

I’ve seen similar other ones on Twitter too, and while it’s unclear when the two of them actually broke up, there’s no telling if it’s affecting his current playing abilities.

Prayers up for Bryce right now… he’s had a tough go at it lately. From everything I’ve seen, he’s been super professional about it and handled it all with class, and I’m rooting for him to turn it around.
I think everyone just needs a little time to regroup first…
