Jason Kelce is already having fun with his broadcasting career, and things are really just getting started for the former center for the Philadelphia Eagles.
If you turn on ESPN’s Monday Night Football programming this year, you’ll notice that a couple of faces you’d normally see won’t be there. That’s partially because the “Worldwide Leader in Sports” decided to go all in on the Kelce train, and signed the recently retired football player to a one year, $1.8 million deal. The contract allows Kelce to continue doing his New Heights podcast (with Taylor Swift’s boyfriend) and basically just includes him as an analyst on ESPN’s MNF.
And we’re barely into Jason Kelce’s broadcasting career with ESPN and the future Hall of Famer is already showing off some of his comedy chops.
Scott Van Pelt was welcoming in the Ryan Clark, Marcus Spears and Jason Kelce to the Monday Night Football pre-game show, and while he introduced Kelce as a part of the team for the first time, he couldn’t help but point out the tight shirt that Jason was wearing. It apparently wasn’t a fashion choice by Jason’s wife Kylie – there was apparently a little bit of a wardrobe emergency in Kelce’s first week on the program, as SVP pointed out:
“We’re thrilled to welcome in a 6-time first team All-NFL selection, a Super Bowl champion, future gold jacket wearer… he’s got a podcast that apparently is doing fairly well. And all that said, Jason Kelce is wearing a shirt that he got at the mall because he left his travel bag in the truck.”
Spears and Clark were quick to point out (through laughter) that the white button up shirt “fit great” on Kelce, even as some of the buttons towards the top of the shirt were figuratively screaming trying to hold the thing together. The former Philadelphia Eagle took the moment in stride and decided to throw out a little self-deprecating humor:
“My uhh… it fits my belly now. I’ve lost a little bit of weight, but my tits are still struggling.”

We’ve all been there.
And just like that, Jason Kelce’s media career with ESPN has officially begun. We already got a tight shirt joke about Kelce not even 30 minutes into programming, so I’d say football fans are in for a fun NFL season ahead with Kelce now a part of the Monday Night Football team.
