This is one of those moments no one would believe unless it was expertly edited caught on film.
As pet owners, there are many moments when we all think to ourselves, “How the heck did that just happen?” Whether it’s your dog jumping on the counter and clearing some food, getting tangled in a leash mid-walk, or doing wild flips and tricks when they have zoomies, pets are entertaining, to say the least.
This golden retriever, though, just won the award for best pet moment. In a video with nearly 14 million views, a golden retriever launches itself off a mini trampoline, completely decking its owner.
Full transparency: I am not sure what kind of trick was trying to be executed, but given that most dogs don’t know how to run and jump on a trampoline, I guess this is pretty Tony Hawk-rated. The owner has his dog sit and instructs it to stay until given the signal to go.
“Alright, buddy, wait until I say go. Okay?”
The dog looks attentively at its owner, but as soon as the owner turns his back and begins making his way to his position, the dog goes rogue. Not waiting for the signal, out of excitement, the dog runs and leaps onto the trampoline, impressively launching himself through the air.
The owner, confused at what he is hearing, turns around just in time to get both back legs right to the head, completely knocking him to the ground. It’s five seconds of brilliant editing comical chaos.

“I’m gonna tell my kids this is Air Bud.”
“Dog tea bagged ya lol.”
“That cheered me up after a long hard day.”
“I’ve watched this 433 times.”
“I don’t even know what just happened.”
“He heard GO and OKAY. That’s a good boy!”
“This is the hardest laugh at someone else’s expense I’ve had in the longest while.”
“That was personal.”
Of course, in this day and age of AI and extreme editing tools, many in the comments feel this was superb editing, and the event did not actually happen. And while they’re probably right, I am choosing to believe this Air Bud moment really did happen.
Can’t we all just pretend everything on the internet is real every once and a while?
