Luke Combs LOVES to shotgun a beer.

Especially when he’s in front of 70,000 plus people. Luckily for Luke, he’s currently on his Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old Stadium Tour, so the opportunity to shotgun a brewski in front of the masses has presented itself on a pretty consistent basis in 2024. He’s mastered the art of shotgunning beer so well, he even gives out lessons to others from time to time.

Two special guests joined Combs on stage at SoFi Stadium this past weekend, and they sure could have used some help on how to properly shotgun a beer. Actor Luke Wilson (the lesser of the Wilson brothers) and NBA star Jimmy Butler (what’s the Heat player doing in California?) came out on stage during the show, and Combs wanted his celebrity friends to join in on the concert ritual that is throwing back an entire beer in just a few seconds.

As he wrapped up the rowdy show and moved towards the finale, Combs started playing his collaboration with Brooks and Dunn “1, 2 Many.” Much of the show had consisted of some of his father and son themed songs, as well as a couple of romantic tracks dedicated to his wife. At the end of the show, though? Combs switched into beer mode and broke out all of his drinking songs.

It was during “1, 2 Many” that Combs brought out Wilson and Butler to join him in the shotgunning, and all I will say is that Luke Wilson could use some tips on how to shotgun a beer. He really just took a couple of gulps and threw a half-empty beer can into the crowd. Meanwhile, Luke Combs and Jimmy Butler did a more respectable job with downing the drinks… though Butler might want to stick to basketball. He still needs some help with his shotgunning technique.

You know who didn’t need any help? Who didn’t need any notes on their beer-disappear trick? Luke Combs. He downed the beer like the dad he is, and it fired up SoFi Stadium like they had just seen a touchdown. That must be a nice feeling. Luke gets celebrated for shotgunning a beer. But when I do it, I’m “ruining my nephew’s birthday party.”

Anyways, check out the videos of the shotgunning proceedings out in California, which were captured by and posted to Jimmy Butler’s Instagram story:
