Now this is how your celebrate Memorial Day weekend.
If you didn’t know, that extra day that you have off is actually a built-in recovery day. Whether you drank a little too much, or tested the limits of your capabilities physically, the third day of the three-day weekend is there for rest, relaxation, and (most importantly) recovery.
Some people use the Monday as a final “hoo-rah,” but that’s a mistake my friends. Experienced Memorial Day weekend enjoyers will tell you that the Friday night and Saturday are the crucial days for going all out. Then on Sunday you can still have a good amount of dialed-down fun, with a fully dedicated re-coop on Monday.
The guy in this video might need a little bit longer than a day to heal up after his “Stone Cold Steve Austin” celebration went a little haywire. It’s never a bad idea to ring in a legendary lake day by smashing a couple of beers together and jumping off the boat, but doing so always leaves the door open for something to go wrong.
Things get especially concerning when you choose to jump off the highest point of the boat. It’s only natural for a peak male specimen like this guy to want to “full send it” from the top, though the laws of gravity are always quick to remind us that we aren’t in as much control as we think.
The guy’s initial Miller Lite beer smashing was classy and well executed. No problem arose from that part of the process. Complication only arose after the beers went down, as the man (who is in peak male form) tried to jump over the railing of the top of the pontoon boat for a belly flop.
Jimmy Rowley, the certified athlete that’s the focus of this clip, defended himself in the video’s caption. He claimed that the friend accompanying him on the top deck of the boat pulled at his shorts, which caused the belly flop to go awry:
“For the record I am super athletic and ripped. Hank just grabbed onto and pulled on my shorts as I went to jump.”
I would have loved to see the calculated belly flop be pulled off, but I can’t complain that much. This impromptu “side flop” might be funnier than if the belly flop would have gone according to plan.
