Lana Del Rey teaming up with Megan Moroney is any sad music fan’s dream.

This past weekend, Hangout Festival was in full swing in Gulf Shores, Alabama. While the festival is not tagged as a country festival, several big names from the genre graced the stage. From Megan Moroney to Koe Wetzel, cowboy boots were well represented. But since it is not a country festival strictly, it allows for some fun, surprise stage visits from other artists.

Her country album isn’t out yet, but Lana Del Rey is making her presence known in the industry. She stepped out on stage during Stagecoach and is now with Megan Moroney at the Hangout Festival. The two teamed up during Megan Moroney’s set to perform a beautiful duet of “Tennessee Orange.”

This is quite the crossover, and I am so here for it. Lana Del Rey fans are often on the same level as Swifties, and Moroney fans quickly follow suit as they belt out her heartbreak lyrics. I think the combining of these two fandoms can be dangerous.

On stage, Moroney takes the first verse before Del Rey steps in to harmonize during the chorus, and then Mroney lets her fly solo for the second verse. We know that Lana Del Rey has a stellar voice as she covered “Unchained Melody” with Paul Cauthen at Stagecoach, but this is the first live performance we have heard her put some twang to her voice, and I am here for it. Her traditionally airy vocals take a more earthy tone as she mimics the Georgia twang that Moroney possesses.

Lana Del Rey is securing some quality friendships (and maybe featured collaboration partners) from her stage appearances this festival season, and she seems to be glowing each time she performs with country music’s biggest names.

I am still keeping my fingers crossed for a future Zach Top and Lana Del Rey collaboration.
