Jake Kohn Adds Yet Another Impressive Single To Growing Catalog With “Where Do We Go From Here?””

Jake Kohn just keeps the heaters coming.

The 16 year old teenage sensation has quickly made an impression on country music fans everywhere, and he continues to impress with each release. Though Kohn has been gaining traction by posting videos of both original songs and covers on social media and YouTube for a few years now, the Stephens City, Virginia native didn’t officially release his debut single “Frostbite” until November 2023, after he had already signed with Atlantic Records, and it has already amassed nearly 2 million streams on Spotify alone.

Roping listeners in with his uniquely deep and raspy vocals, and keeping them captivated with his deftly vivid lyricism, Kohn quickly followed his debut with “Hard As Stone” and “Dreams” over the next few months, and now has added a fourth single to his potent catalog in which he continues to impress with his innate songwriting ability and vocal prowess.

With song content that exudes the existential dread of a teenager through metaphors and circumstances that only someone who has lived a lot more life could truly understand, the young artist has been transparent in interviews that these lyrics are not necessarily introspective or telling of anything that he has experienced personally. But that just speaks to his creativity as a songwriter, an innate trait that is on full display in his latest single “Where Do We Go From Here?”

The new tune follows a narrator who finds himself on the verge of a breakdown amidst a fizzling relationship, losing the mental battle as they struggle with their self worth and seemingly find healthy ways to cope with the ensuing whirlwind of emotions. Through an Instagram post in which Kohn teased the song a few days prior to it’s release, he provided some succinct insight into the story behind the song.

“This song is called “Where Do We Go From Here?” and it’s kind of a story about trying to figure out where you are in life an where you’re going next.”

So, without further ado, give Jake Kohn’s latest single “Where Do We Go From Here?” a listen for yourself.

“Bad decisions and Benzedrine’ll do it
I think I need you to help me get through it
I’m a stone’s throw from losing my mind
Damn near out of control
I wish i was more of a man
I wish you’d look me in the eyes
When I reach for your hand”

Not only has Kohn’s music been grabbing the attention of country music fans everywhere, but plenty of other artists within the scene have taken note as well, and he’s ended up with some pretty awesome opening spots as a result.

Set to embark on a run of shows supporting Sierra Ferrel this weekend, he recently shared an amazing cover of Ferrell’s “In Dreams” on social media.
