Everything’s bigger in Texas.

George Strait is gearing up for a massive show at Kyle Field in College Station on June 15th, which will easily be one of, if not the, biggest shows of his career — both in terms of excitement and people in the building.

In fact, as reported by the San Antonio Express-News earlier this week, The King is on track to break his own all-time attendance record of 104,793, which was set in 2014 at his Cowboy Rides Away finale at AT&T Stadium in 2014.

So far, Strait has sold over 100,000 tickets for the only Texas show on his schedule for 2024, which is on track easily surpass the aforementioned AT&T Stadium show. Kyle Field is the largest football stadium in the SEC and one of the largest in the entire nation, seating 102,733 people. With the extra seating when floor seats go in and people in suits, Strait will be looking at the largest audience of his career.

Announced just a few weeks ago on March 19th, it’s also the shortest time in Strait’s career that a single show has moved over 100,000 tickets.

An already history-making show, longtime promoter and founder of Messina Touring Group Louis Messina says it will be the first-ever concert of its size to be held at Kyle Field:

“George has always said he has the best fans, and there’s nothing like a Texas crowd. We knew the show at Kyle Field would be exciting as it’s the first-ever one of its size to be held in the stadium, but even I didn’t expect we’d sell over 100,000 tickets in just a few days.

He’ll play to more people in one night than we did at AT&T in 2014! It’s a testament to George’s reputation as an entertainer and performer that here we are, still setting records and personal bests years later.”

Amen to that.

At 71 years young, Strait continues to prove that he’s The King for a reason, and his appeal and talent is as timeless as ever. If he’ll be anywhere near you for any of his tour dates this year, it absolutely not something you want to miss.

Long live The King, y’all.
