While many Yellowstone actors have parlayed the show’s success into other ventures, perhaps none have made quite as big a splash as Luke Grimes.

Grimes, who plays Kayce Dutton in Taylor Sheridan’s flagship series, has built his Hollywood career steadily over the past two decades, known for roles in American Sniper, the Fifty Shades trilogy, and The Magnificent Seven, but recently he slipped out of acting and into country music and to say people have taken to him as an artist would be an understatement.

Grimes released his debut EP Pain Pills Or Pews last October and just dropped his Dave Cobb-produced, self-titled debut album last Friday, both of which garnered a lot of attention from fans and media alike.

From the number of festival slots he’s secured, it seems Grimes will be a staple in the country music scene for the foreseeable future. But that doesn’t mean he’s turning his back on acting.

In fact, it was just announced that he signed onto a star-studded cast for an upcoming western titled Eddington.

Ari Aster, a filmmaker known for Beau Is Afraid (Currently streaming on Paramount+) and Dream Scenario (likely being added to Paramount+ this summer) recently let the world know that A24 Studios, the company behind Everything Everywhere All At Once and Uncut Gems (both streaming on Paramount+) would be financing his latest creation, which features a who’s who of Hollywood A-listers.

Joaquin Phoenix, Emma Stone, Austin Butler, Pedro Pascal, and Deirdre O’Connell will join Luke Grimes for the contemporary western, according to Variety.

Plot details are still very limited. So far we only know this little snippet released by the studio saying it:

“Follows a small-town New Mexico sheriff with higher aspirations.”

Unfortunately that’s all we know about the project so far, but I’m willing to bet it’s going to be a heck of a thrill ride.

I’ll see you at the theaters whenever this one comes out, but in the meantime, grab a 7 Day Free Trial here to watch Aster and A24’s movies, as well as other Taylor Sheridan creations like 1883, 1923, Tulsa King, and Lawman: Bass Reeves.
