SNL’s really going all out to try to win over the male audience these past couple weeks.
Last week of course they had the popular stand up comedian Shane Gillis, who was once fired from the show just four days after being announced as a cast member over “racially insensitive” comments.
And these week, Saturday Night Live gave dudes another reason to tune in when they featured host Sydney Sweeney alongside musical guest Kacey Musgraves.
And SNL clearly knew what they were doing, because one sketch that sent dudes into a tailspin featured Sydney Sweeney playing a popular Hooters girl, who drew the ire of her colleagues when her male customers only wanted her to serve them.
In the sketch, Sweeney spills beer all over who customers, who keep excusing her mistakes and even offer to buy her a car despite the fact that she’s not great at her job:
“It’s ok. Anything you do is ok.”
But her fellow waitresses (and waiter) are annoyed at the fact that she can do no wrong:
“You spilled all over them and made one guy relapse. They just like you.”
Well of course all the guys watching (who, let’s be honest, only tuned in to see Sydney Sweeney) seemed to enjoy the sketch too…or at least the sight of Sydney Sweeney in a Hooters uniform).
Oh yeah, SNL definitely knew what they were doing with that one.
