Full throttle.

Today, Stephen Wilson Jr. released a high-energy live concert video from his sold-out show at the Nashville venue EXIT/IN last month of “Year to Be Young (1994)”, and it perfectly captures the feeling of the song and lends really well to the rocking production when you see it live.

From his major label debut 2023 søn of dad album, the song was written by Stephen and Benjamin West and is full of nostalgia for the 90’s and all the great music and iconic bands that came from that decade like Nirvana and Boyz II Men:

“I must admit I felt the flame
Kurt Cobain, a Fender Mustang
MTV brought me up
‘This is your brain on drugs’
I won’t forget that first girlfriend
That got me into Boyz II Men”

If you haven’t check out søn of dad yet, you’re behind, but it’s certainly not too late. It was easily one of my favorite country releases last year, and Stephen is well on his way to making a big name for himself in this genre both as a writer and artist.

Originally from Southern Indiana, he has a really unique sound that draws inspiration from indie rock, grunge and country (dubbed “Death Cab for Country”), and he previously released his awesome bon aqua EP prior to his aforementioned debut full-length album.

Wilson is gearing up tot hit the road with Hardy on his QUIT!! tour that kicks off in May, and I’d highly recommend getting to see him in concert if they’ll be anywhere near you on that run.

Why would you wanna miss out on this…
