This is more shoes than I’ve owned total in all my 35 years, and it’s really not even close.
Denny Hamlin is not only a NASCAR Cup Series driver, but he also co-owns 23XI Racing alongside basketball legend Michael Jordan.
The unlikely duo first met at an NBA game over a decade ago, when Jordan sent his security to get Denny Hamlin at halftime – because Jordan wanted to talk NASCAR with Denny.
Turns out Jordan was a NASCAR fan long before he was a team owner. And by the looks of his sneaker collection, Hamlin was a fan of Jordan long before the two became business partners in 2020.
The driver of the #11 car for Joe Gibbs Racing took to social media to show off his entire collection of Jordans, and left fans stunned at the sheer number of sneakers he’s amassed over the years.
Insane.
By my count (I had to slow the video down) that’s well over 300 pairs of Jordans. That’s easily hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of sneakers.
Of course Hamlin has a pretty good connection, so I’m assuming he didn’t pay for all of those himself…
Hamlin has even served as the inspiration for a one-of-one pair of Jordans, the Air Jordan Racer 1 featuring the color scheme from Denny’s FedEx sponsored car.
Safe to say that Denny’s found a hobby to keep him busy long after he retires…if running a race team isn’t enough.
