I think we can all agree that the Baltimore Ravens are playing the best football at the moment out of all the teams in the NFL.
After getting off to a bit of a slow start, quarterback Lamar Jackson put together an MVP worthy season, and the Ravens finished the season with an impressive 13-4 season (and that includes a loss to the Steelers in the last game of the season when they were playing only their backups).
Not to mention, the Ravens were absolutely obliterating some of the best teams in the NFL towards the end of the season, like the Miami Dolphins and San Francisco 49ers.
So, the question is…
What’s been the key to their success?
Is it coaching? Is it the players?
Well, it turns out there might be something more to it than just X’s and O’s.
In fact, the key to the Ravens’ success might be credited to Smuckers Uncrustables, every child’s favorite snack growing up.
According to The Baltimore Banner, the crust-less peanut butter and jelly sandwich is a HUGE favorite amongst Ravens players, as the staff can’t stock up enough of it before it all disappears.
In fact, Ravens players eat anywhere between 30 to 60 packs a day, totaling a mind boggling 7,500 eaten per season.
Sarah Snyder, the Ravens’ director of sports nutrition told the outlet:
“I’m surprised at how many people eat at least one PB&J a day, and they don’t get tired of them.
I know the texture is a big part of it, the texture, flavor, taste, all those things contribute to them coming back to them.”
I have to admit, Uncrustables being the main snack of the Baltimore Ravens was the last thing on my list, but how can I blame them?
It made my day every time my mom would throw one in my lunch box back in elementary school.
