Coach Prime is down in the dumps.
Not only has the University of Colorado football program taken a turn after their electric season opening against TCU, but now, with the departure of three of his assistant coaches, he finds himself losing another valuable player of his personal team…his fiancée.
After twelve years together, Deion Sanders and Tracey Edmonds call it quits.
In an Instagram post made by Edmonds, she noted that they mutually decided they would be better off as friends and have chosen to part ways romantically.
“To EVERYONE who has been there for us, supported us, and shown us love…
We have mutually decided that it is best for us to move forward in life AS FRIENDS and have made this decision with love in our hearts, respect for each other, and appreciation for the time we’ve shared together. Please keep us in your prayers as we go through this transition. Thank you for being there for us ALL THESE YEARS! We love you and appreciate you SO MUCH!”
Comments on the post have since been turned off, but it was reported that Sanders left a note on the picture of the couple, seeming to have nothing but admiration and respect for each other.
“Love you, Tracey, and you’ve been a true blessing to me. I appreciate the times we’ve shared and the laughs we’ve had.”

Sanders and Edmonds met in 2012 during a movie premiere for a film she had produced. Sanders slid her his business card so they could connect later and talk about his pitch idea for a reality TV show. While the show never took off, their romance did, and they got engaged in 2019.
While he has had the odds stacked against him from recent events, at least Coach Prime can still ride the high of being named Sports Illustrated’s Sportsperson of the Year.
Their breakup was announced less than 24 hours after the college transfer portal opened up, leaving fans to wonder if the hard-hitting 4-8 season that Boulder had put extra pressure on the relationship.
