If you play close attention to the NFL, then you know that New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Kansas City Chiefs tight end (and boyfriend of Taylor Swift for all of you Swifties out there) Travis Kelce have been having a mini-war of words.
It all started when Rodgers called Kelce “Mr. Pfizer” for starring in the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination commercials:
“Mr. Pfizer, we kind of shut him down a little bit. He didn’t have no crazy impact on the game.
You know he had some yards and stuff, but for the most part I felt we played really tough on defense for the last three quarters.”
Aaron Rodgers called #Chiefs TE Travis Kelce – "Mr. Pfizer" 😆
Of course, there’s nothing personal with each of their statements. They’re two of the best players in the league just talking some meaningless sh*t to each other.
However, if you thought the trash talk would end there, you were wrong.
During a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal,Kelce appeared to take a small jab at Rodgers as he’s going through rehab for his torn Achilles.
Rodgers has been making regular Tuesday appearances on The Pat McAfee Show while he’s been sidelined, which Kelce says is the highlight of Rodgers’ week:
“Aaron’s always been cool to me. I knew he was trying to have some fun. He’s in a situation where Tuesdays are his game days…. So I get it, man, I’ve been injured too…. Who knows what the guy is going through?”
You know life is tough when Tuesdays are your favorite day of the week.
But, Rodgers may not have too many Tuesday appearances on McAfee left, because he reportedly told reporter Melissa Stark that he’s eyeing a mid-December return to the field, which would be nothing short of a miracle, considering Achilles tears have been known to end careers.
