MY MAN.

Your 2023 NASCAR Cup Series champion is… Ryan Blaney.

I watched my Cubs collapse this year, the Chicago Bears continue to suck week in and week out, the Blackhawks are still a work in progress, but ol’ Ryan Blaney, a country music fan, and friend of the Whiskey Riff Raff podcast, has been my saving grace in the sports world this year.

And now, at 29 years old, he’s officially a NASCAR Cup Series champ.

Battling out Kyle Larson, Christopher Bell and William Byron for the crown, Blaney started the race in 15th, the lowest of the four Championship drivers.

Blaney’s win also marks back to back wins for Penske Racing after Joey Logano took home the championship last year.

Self-described as “not a very emotional guy,” Blaney had the tears flowing as he was crossing the finish line:

Also not much of a burnout guy, Blaney let it rip today:

And blasting Sturgill Simpson in victory lane… you gotta love it.

BIG congrats to Ryan Blaney on winning his first Cup Series Championship… many more to come.
