Nolan Taylor Delivers Knockout ‘Jam In The Van’ Session

Jam In The Van

Nolan Taylor is one of a kind, and his brand new Jam in the Van session is just further proof.

The Cincinnati, OH based up and comer is in the nascent stages of his budding career, but with each single release, or really just with the release of new content in any form, Taylor’s fervent fan base grows and the word about his music continues to be spread.

Coming at you live from inside the van in Los Angeles, Taylor performs three of his best tracks in a stripped-back, intimate acoustic session that puts his extraordinary vocals, poignant lyricism, and raw authenticity on full display. Go ahead and give it a listen for yourself below:

Taylor begins the session with “Double Life,” a track that has been out for a few years now as a live recording, but was just recently officially released as a single, his second after signing with major label Atlantic Records. A complicated yet heartfelt love song, “Double Life” is based on a short lived relationship a former bandmate of Taylor’s had with a married woman.

More personal and introspective, “Darkness,” the next song on the session, is a brutally honest and hard hitting account of some of Taylor’s own emotional struggles, yet at the same time, an endearing ode to the important people in his life who helped him get through to better days.

Lastly, Taylor closes the session with his biggest song to date, and perhaps the most personal of them all “68,” a devastating track that finds Taylor looking back on his rough childhood and the difficult relationship, or lack thereof, with his mother as a result.

Having experienced a semi-viral moment with RadioWV 9 months ago, “68” has amassed several million streams and has served as a catalyst in Taylor’s skyrocketing career.

So, without further ado, check out Taylor’s brand new Jam in the Van session, live from Los Angeles, California.

For those of you who may not be familiar with Jam in the Van, the concept is the brainchild of music lovers and festival goers Dave Bell, Jake Cotler, and Louis Peek, who began filming musicians playing in their van in 2011 and have been spreading original music of all genres ever since.

A fully mobile operation, over 1,000 artists have participated in a Jam for the Van session across various locations since the project began. Taylor is the latest artist to join the ranks.

If you liked what you’ve heard thus far, check out a couple more of Taylor’s songs, and go out and catch him live, too. The venues will only get bigger, and the tickets harder to get, as Taylor continues his rise into through the ranks as one of country music’s next big things.
