I need to wake up every Monday morning to see this kind of content.

Over the weekend, the iconic Farm Aid concert series was held in Noblesville, Indiana. The star-studded lineup featured legends like Willie Nelson, Bob Weir, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Margo Price, and many others.

One of the best surprise guests not listed on the bill was  Sturgill Simpson. We have already raved about his shared stage performance with Bob Weir, and part of the time he shared with Margo Price…but we have more.

Margo Price let Sturgill have some time for himself, asking him on stage for a performance of his track “Life Of Sin.” The fan-favorite song off his 2014 album Metamodern Sounds In Country Music got the crowd going from the Farm Aid stage.

Margo Price let Sturgill have the limelight during the track, standing back and playing the hell out of her tambourine. She jumped in to help with some harmonies on the song’s back half… but she made it known this was Sturgill’s performance.

“Picked up this guy hitchhiking, and he’s about to sit in with us at Farm Aid.”

Of course, Sturgill performances have been few and far between since his vocal chord injury of late 2021, but he sounds great on stage. Every note that Sturgill hits is spot on, and he seems to be simply living in the moment, singing some of his oldies for the crowd.

These people are so damn lucky to have witnessed this performance.

Farm Aid 2023, hands down, had some of the best surprise appearances. What a way to not only celebrate some damn good country music but also the hard-working farmers of our nation.
