Rules are meant to be broken.
That’s the way I see it at least. There always seems to be a situation where common sense outweighs what you’re “supposed” to do.
As humans, we make the rules and I love seeing when folks use good judgement, apply common sense, and help out in a ever so challenging world.
Wildlife has it rough out there and I can’t think of any more extremes than our poles. Covered in snow and ice, these areas still hold populations of amazing creatures.
Penguins are some of the coolest. The unique species of bird are loved by many and a favorite by any one who has got to see them.
When it comes to seeing wildlife, National Geographic is as good as it gets. They are the pillar of wildlife photographer and documentation.
Over the years they have captured some amazing stuff. But, it comes with risk as well. They often go to extremely remote locations for the best opportunity to see wildlife. They have been chased by bears, ran from volcanoes and I’m sure so much more.
With that job comes some rules. One of their rules is they can’t mess with the wildlife, that includes helping them when they are in trouble.
But these photographers were out looking at some penguins when they realized they were in a jam.
The penguins were stuck in a hollow and couldn’t get up out.
The National Geographic folks watched for a bit but it began to bug them… knowing that these 50 or so penguins were going to die.
They said screw the rules and sprung in to action, simply building a staircase in the snow for the penguins. As soon as the finish it the birds all shuffle their way up and out.
Ya gotta love to see it.
