The sports world has been anxiously waiting to hear from Aaron Rodgers following his devastating, season-ending injury in his New York Jets debut.

We finally get to cut through all of the speculation and hear straight from the man himself, who took to Instagram to send a message to all of his fans and followers.

As you probably already know, Aaron Rodgers was removed from the Monday Night Football matchup against the Buffalo Bills just four snaps into the Jet’s drive. He first tried to get up, but instantly knew that something was wrong as he morosely looked over to the sidelines and fell back down to the ground.

Rodgers was helped off the field, then was carted off to the locker room for further evaluation. His initial X-rays were negative, but everyone knew that the injury he sustained would most likely need to be confirmed with an MRI.

The following day, the MRI results showed that his Achilles tendon had fully torn, meaning that Aaron Rodgers would miss the rest of the NFL season (before he really even got started).

For football fans, its awful, knowing that one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game suffered such an injury this late into his career. For Jets fan, its the worst case scenario, and has led many “Gang Green” fans to believe that they are, in fact, cursed.

Once it was made official that Rodgers was done for the year, many in the sports world were asking if the Achilles tear wasn’t just season-ending, but career-ending as well.

In his statement, Rodgers thanks everyone for the support, and even cryptically addressed the rumors that his football playing days might be over:

“Thank you to every person that has reached out, called, texted, DM’d, connected through a friend, etc. It has meant a ton to me, and I’ll try and get back to all of you soon.

I’m completely heartbroken and moving through all of the emotions, but deeply touched and humbled by the support and love. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I begin the healing process today.”

The night is darkest before the dawn. And I shall rise yet again. Proud of my guys, 1-0.”

Support has poured in for Rodgers during the difficult time, and it looks as though he’s got his mind set on making a comeback.

The Aaron Rodgers led Jets have been “delayed,” but here’s to hoping that Rodgers gets healed up and the Jets are once again “cleared for takeoff.”

They started 1 and 0 this year too, so who knows what will happen with this New York Jets season…
