The country cover we never knew we needed.

Zac Brown Band giving a nod to Queen is just immaculate.

Back in 2015, on the European leg of their world tour, Zac Brown Band paid tribute to the British band at SSE Arena in London, laying down a killer cover of the complex song “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

“‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ is one of the craziest song arrangements, Freddie Mercury was a mad genius. It took us about a year of working on it off and on, to come up with a version that sounds like it.

To pull that song off live is a testament to the ninjas in my band. It’s one of my favorite covers to do live, and getting to play it at Wembley was a huge moment for us.”

No matter what genre of music you fancy, this is a classic track that all music listeners can appreciate, making for an unexpected but fantastic cover. If you’ve ever seen Zac Brown Band live, you already know that they’re collectively one of the most talented acts in the business, top tier players throughout the entire outfit.

The smash hit was originally recorded in 1975, was the lead track off of Queen’s album A Night At The Opera. The six-minute single takes listeners through various melodies and tells a complete story through the song.

Zac Brown covering this dynamic track highlights his vocal talent as he adjusts his voice, giving a killer Freddie Mercury impression.

And if you like this one, there’s plenty more where that came from, as “Bohemian Rhapsody” is just the first track from their upcoming live covers project, From the Road, Vol. 1: Covers. The upcoming album will feature an entire tracklist of great covers that they’ve performed live over the years.

This is not the first time the group has covered the iconic Queen song, however. Back in 2014 at the iHeartRadio Music Festival, I have had that video on a constant loop over the years, so to have a version now on streaming platforms is amazing.
