Wynonna Judd is hitting the road to sing some of her very first hits.

She just announced her Back to Wy tour, which will feature Wynonna singing all of the songs from her debut album Wynonna (1992) and sophomore record Tell Me Why (1993) track by track, front to back.

The finale will include some of her other biggest hits and The Judd’s classics, and it sounds like it’s going to be a really cool show and with a neat concept that I’ve never really heard of another artist doing quite like this before.

She will cover 15 cities across the country, starting in October at the Murat Theatre at Old National Centre in Indianapolis, Indiana, eventually wrapping up in Knoxville at the Tennessee Theatre on December 1st.

Wynonna says she can’t wait to feel all of the nostalgia with fans through shining a spotlight on the music that helped her start her career, adding that the music healed her back then and is “healing me now”:

“Two words…NUH-STALGIA. I am thrilled to FINALLY announce that I’ll be hitting the road this fall, with the BACK TO WY Tour!!!!

We’re going to travel back to the 90’s, celebrating my start as a solo artist and performing my first TWO albums, ‘Wynonna’ and ‘Tell Me Why,’ top to bottom, back to back, in their entirety! This means we get to play the hits, the deep cuts, and everything in between.

Getting to share this tour with the fans who have been with me for 40 years, means the world to me. Deep diving into my first two solo albums, track by track, will be such a trip down memory lane. As I sit and listen to these two records, I’m flooded with the memories that surrounded that time in my life.

The fans held me up and supported me through a season of change in 1992, and I now see ‘herstory’ repeating itself. This music healed me then, and is healing me now. The circle of life continues…”

Wynonna was the highest-selling debut album by a female artist at the time, earning her three consecutive #1 hits with “She Is His Only Need,” “I Saw The Light,” and “No One Else On Earth.”

Tell Me Why produced several hit singles as well, including “Tell Me Why,” “Is It Over Yet,” “Rock Bottom,” and “Girls With Guitars.”
