Planning a potential schedule around a due date for a child can be challenging by itself, and that’s without also having to juggle a wildly successful world tour.
Luke Combs and his wife Nicole are expecting their second child here soon, and they are both crossing their fingers that the timing of everything works out.
An impending birth normally wouldn’t be a huge logistical issue for second-time parents, but it is a small cause for concern considering that Luke Combs could be on the other side of the world when it happens.
The country star is set to wrap up his stadium World Tour with a plethora of shows across the pond. There is a part of the schedule that has a built in break for when Nicole is expected to give birth to their second child, but some fans are worried that Comb’s New Zealand and Australia run in August could be cut short if his wife went into labor.
Combs is slated to play on August 9th in New Zealand, then play a multitude of shows in Australia in between August 11th and August 26th. The “Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old” singer is then set to take a break until September 30th when he kicks off the final leg of his World Tour in Norway.
Nicole was doing a Q&A session on her Instagram over the weekend, and an anxious follower asked the question that many of Comb’s fans in Australia are asking:
“If you went into labor early, would Luke cancel his shows?”
Nicole thought the question was worth answering, and responded on her Instagram story confirming that the due date us actually following the shows:
“It’s around 20 hours to get back from Australia if he got on a plane immediately, lol. So no. I’m not due until after he gets back, so I’m trying really hard not to go into early labor.
With Tex, I was doing everything in my power to get him out and he was a day early.”
So it seems like everything should work out for the Combs family and the Comb’s fanbase. And though the timeline should work out, even Luke himself is a little nervous, saying in a recent interview with Audacy:
“It’s actually kind of getting down to the wire here because I’m going to tour in Australia here in about a week. So gonna be cutting it close with the due date on getting home.
He also reveals that himself and Nicole have not picked out a name for baby boy number two, but planned on doing so before he headed to the “Land Down Under” for the Australian leg of the tour.
“We have to pick out a name in the next couple of days in case the baby were to come while I’m gone… we gotta figure it out soon.”
