What a kickass lineup for an even better cause.

Drake White just announced his Benefit for the Brain charity concert, which will feature performances by fellow Alabamians Jamey Johnson and Riley Green, along with Randy Houser and several more artists still to be announced.

Taking place at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee on August 28th, the proceeds will benefit research and support networks within the field of brain and mental health.

Drake suffered a horrific onstage collapse in 2019 from a condition called AVM where the blood vessels in the brain become tangled and cut off its blood supply, and he detailed this awful ordeal on the Whiskey Riff Raff podcast, so give that a listen if you’re not familiar with the story.

Needless to say, it’s a very personal and meaningful event for him, which he says will hopefully bring awareness to brain and mental health and “the battle between your ears”:

“This will be a night of music and conversation shining light on brain and mental health.

Through music and community, our goal is to raise awareness and resources to foster innovation in adolescent brain health, empower veterans and their families, and bridge the gap between alternative medicine and public perception.

Together, we hope to inspire a community of understanding, improve quality of life, and give courage to face the battle between your ears.”

Tickets go on sale this Friday, July 14th at 10AM:

“Grateful to announce that we are bringing our very first Benefit for the Brain to the Mother Church!

This will be a night of music and fellowship to help bridge the gap between public perception and brain/mental health awareness. Join us for a night dedicated to the battle between your ears.”

Drake actually released a new single called “Spirit” last month, and though it had understandably been quite a while since he put any substantial music out, it’s great to have some new tunes from him once again and hopefully there’s much more of it to come soon… stay tuned.
