Looks like country music fans have officially found their favorite NBA player…

As the Miami Heat have made somewhat of a Cinderella run to the NBA Finals, more and more examples of their star player Jimmy Butler being a certified country music fanatic have been revealed.

It’s been known for quite some time that “Jimmy Buckets” has dabbled in the country music, saying in an interview that he actually discovered and fell in love with the genre trying to make fun of his teammates.

Even in a press conference right before the NBA Finals started yesterday (the Heat lost to the Nuggets in Game 1), Butler told the media that he would be listening to Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs in preparation for the game.

And by the looks of these two videos below, Butler delivered on that promise. Yesterday before they were to play in the first game of the best-of-seven game series, Butler posted a video on his Instagram story of him playing cards and vibing out to Morgan Wallen and Chris Stapleton.

Specifically, the song “Only Thing That’s Gone (feat. Chris Stapleton)” is playing in the background from Wallen’s 2021 Dangerous: The Double Album.

The post’s caption reads:

“Heat star Jimmy Butler was listening to country music and playing cards just hours before Game 1 of the NBA Finals.”

And if you think that shows his dedication and love for the genre, just wait until you see the next video.

It’s been hilariously reported that Butler will take control of the locker room’s music, but this time it looks like he “grabbed the aux” for the entire Denver Nuggets arena.

The clip shows Butler warming up on the court and listening to yet another Wallen banger, blasting “Wasted On You” through the stadium’s speakers as he and the team got shots up prior to the matchup against the Nikola Jokic led Nuggets.

The post read:

“It’s true, Jimmy Butler loves country music.

One day before the NBA Finals, the Miami Heat are practicing to Morgan Wallen.”

The Miami Heat have been on a hell of a run this postseason, and could it all be attributed to the team embracing the country music lifestyle?

They dropped game one last night, so they’ll need to regroup with some offensive and defensive adjustments, but more importantly probably queue up Hank Williams Jr. or Willie Nelson on the playlist.
