Well Zach’s clearly not done setting records, because that’s just what he did during a recent tour stop in New Orleans.
The Burn, Burn, Burn Tour rolled into the Smoothie King Center, home of the New Orleans Pelicans, this past Saturday. And with it, 17,000 fans came along to shatter the concert attendance record in the building and add another impressive milestone to Zach’s already extensive resumé.
For some context on just how impressive it is that Zach was able to break the Smoothie King Center’s attendance record, Billy Joel drew over 16,000 fans during a stop at the arena in 2017. That same year, Jay-Z bragged (mistakenly) that he had officially broken the attendance record with a crowd of just over 13,000.
Now I don’t know how much you know about the city of New Orleans, but it’s not exactly a hotbed of country music. Rap, hip-hop and jazz are the usual draws in a city that’s known for its eclectic music tastes.
So for a country artist like Zach to come in and draw a record-breaking crowd at a venue that’s hosted more than its fair share of major acts over the years is more than impressive: It’s almost mind-boggling.
But then again, a lot about Zach’s meteoric rise has been mind-boggling. So maybe we shouldn’t be surprised at anything he does from here on out.
