Another massive record for Morgan Wallen.
This weekend, he became the first solo male artist in history to have two consecutive albums spend 10 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart.
It includes his 2021 double album Dangerous, along with his behemoth of a 36-song One Thing At A Time album that was released in March of this year:
To be the first artist to do that not only in the country genre, but all of music, is pretty damn impressive to say the least, and is a true testament to his popularity and prominence right now.
It’s hard to overstate how really unprecedented it is to have a country artist at the top of the pop charts in such a massive, dominating way.
Of course, this certainly isn’t the first record he’s broken with his recent album either, as he also broke the record for the most songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart by a single artist, with all 36 tracks making the chart when it was released a few months ago.
The album also set the record for the largest streaming week in history for any country album, and was the most-streamed country album in a single day by a male country artist in Spotify history.
And he also earned three spots inside the Billboard Country Airplay chart top 10 with “Thought You Should Know” “Last Night” and “One Thing At a Time” in April, which was also a first in Billboard history.
Needless to say, Morgan’s a superstar in country and beyond right now, and it doesn’t look like he’s going to be slowing down anytime soon, even though he had to reschedule six weeks worth of shows on his world tour after being ordered by his doctors to go on vocal rest.
Last week, he also won the ACM Award for Male Artist of the Year, but was not there in-person to accept, or perform, due to his vocal issues.
And so far from One Thing At A Time, he’s scored three #1 singles with “You Proof,” “Thought You Should Know” and “Last Night,” likely with a few more to come.
