Just when I thought this day couldn’t get any better, it did.

In case you missed it, the Turnpike Troubadours just dropped “Mean Old Sun,” their first new song in over five years and an incredible preview into their forthcoming record Cat in the Rain that is set to be released on August 25th.

Produced by Shooter Jennings, the new album was recorded at Muscle Shoals’ Fame Recording Studios and Dave’s Room in Los Angeles, California.

And as if that weren’t enough to keep Turnpike fans occupied for a while, the greatest band of all time has announced a slew of new tour dates this summer to promote their new record. That’s right, the Turnpike Troubadours, who have become one of the hottest tickets in country music, are likely coming to a city near you.

Originally from Tahlequah, OK, Turnpike Troubadours is Evan Felker (vocals, guitar), Kyle Nix (fiddle), Ryan Engleman (electric guitar), RC Edwards (bass), Gabe Pearson (drums) and Hank Early.

With awesome openers hand-picked by the band themselves at each date, and legendary venues of varying sizes all across the country, the Turnpike Troubadours are set to embark on something special with this tour.

The fellas will headline shows at New York’s Beacon Theater, two nights at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, Los Angeles’ Greek Theater and three nights at Fort Worth’s Billy Bob’s, among many more. The band will also perform at select festivals this summer including Newport, RI’s Newport Folk Festival, Pryor, OK’s Born & Raised Festival, Memphis, TN’s Mempho Music Festival and Charleston’s Riverfront Revival Music Festival.

Openers will include some heavy hitters like Hayes Carll, Pony Bradshaw, Muscadine Bloodline, Kaitlin Butts, Morgan Wade, Reckless Kelly, Jason Boland and more.

And this goes without saying, but if they’re coming to a city near you, I suggest you get yourself a ticket.
