Gabe Lee does not miss.

He’s back with a stunning new single today called “Drink The River,” which is accompanied by some gorgeous mandolin and steel, as well as his own acoustic guitar.

It’s the title track to his forthcoming new album that will be out everywhere on July 14th, the follow-up to his 2022 The Hometown Kid album.

Gabe told Garden & Gun that the song can be interpreted as a love song, though it’s more symbolic in the way it represents the shared river of the human experience, and all the gritty, messy stuff you might find in there too:

“‘Drink the River’ sounds like a love song, and in some ways it is. But more importantly, I think it’s a message about drinking from the river of shared human experience.

It’s inviting folks to dip into this flow of stories and this current of emotions and experiences. It’s an invitation for folks to really take a look at what makes our shared human experience so important.”

Of course, his vocals sound great, and if  you’re unfamiliar with Gabe, he’s a Nashville native with an incredible knack for songwriting and ability to deliver stories with authenticity and honesty, staying true to his country roots in Music City.

He also added that this album will be even more stripped-back than his previous work, as he leans into the bluegrass element of his sound that has existed in some form or fashion in all of his music, which you can definitely hear on this new single.

The music video was filmed at the famous Sound Emporium in Nashville, where he also recorded the entire album:
