‘Yellowstone’ Star May Have Alluded To Kevin Costner Getting Killed Off: “Nothing Is Forever”

I still don’t have a clue what to expect with Yellowstone at the moment.

First, we’re hit with the bombshell that Kevin Costner could be exiting the show due to scheduling conflicts for the second half of season five.

Then, rumors began to swirl that Matthew McConaughey could be in line for a spinoff series featuring much of the original cast, which has been confirmed to be in the works regardless of Costner’s future on the show.

Not to mention, it was also strange that a number of Yellowstone stars were scratched from making their appearance at PaleyFest over a week ago, like Costner, Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser, and Luke Grimes.

But, Yellowstone exec Keith Cox assured the crowd that they were “very confident” Costner will be returning to the show.

However, other actors from the show like Josh Lucas (Young John Dutton) and Wendy Moniz (Lynelle Perry) made an appearance at PaleyFest, and Lucas alluded to the possibility of Costner getting killed off, with Moniz admitting that she has no clue what the future of the show holds.

With that being said, another Yellowstone star made an appearance at PaleyFest as well, and she made some eye opening comments about Costner’s future on the show…

And it’s no other than Dawn Olivieri, who play Market Equities’ Sarah Atwood.

According to Daily Mail, she also may have alluded to Costner getting killed off, saying:

Sometimes we have to own the fact that nothing is forever and impermanence is the single thing we can count on. And that life is like that.

I believe Taylor to write the rollercoaster. I can trust him to do that because why else are you writing?

Are you writing so that everyone feels happy and they feel good about what you’ve just done to them? ‘That’s not why we watch Taylor Sheridan things.

We watch it because we go, ‘ooooh I can’t believe that just happened. Ooooh How could he do that?’ Right?

So however he writes this, it’s not going to be for the benefit of everyone at the home to just nicely go in their bed at night and put their head on the pillow and be like: I am happy.

That’s how he did it. That is never going to be the case. That’s not why he is where he is writing what he’s writing.”

She also discussed her own experience getting killed off of 1883, when she played Claire Dutton:

“I’ve already died once. I tried. Everyone tried to change his mind. I heard after the fact that the producers were like, ‘don’t kill her. She’s really great. We love her character. She’s a strong addition – let’s take her farther on the train.’

He was like: ‘No, I wrote her to die.’ I have succumbed to the death of that pen. It was the best for that story.

It will never stop. We are going backwards, forwards, to the side (in time) and he is touching on something that affects everybody.

Why would you stop that? It is making people feel. They are communing and coming together, and it is freeing.

The names will change. Hotness factors will shift and Matthew McConaugheys will appear. It will just be whatever it needs to be.”

I guess we’ll see…
