Zach Bryan’s “God Speed” and “Burn, Burn, Burn” are officially Gold.

The RIAA announced today that they had officially been certified Gold, which means they’ve each moved a respective over 500,000 units since they were released:

Of course, “God Speed” is an old fan-favorite, which Zach released on his very first album back in 2019, DeAnn. The album was written over two months and recorded with his friends at a Florida Airbnb, and was dedicated to his late mother.

“Burn, Burn, Burn” was released more recently as a one-off single last fall, and ultimately became the name of his forthcoming tour that kicks off in May.

And in a post today reflecting on the new accomplishment, Zach shared some old footage from his time recording the DeAnn record in Florida, saying he had “just turned 23” and his “bank account was in the red from buying the microphone.”

When you listen to that original “God Speed” recording, it’s certainly bare and raw without high-quality studio technology, but I think I speak for most of us when I say that’s the pure and simple magic of it:

“had just turned 23 here. bank account in the red from buying the microphone. vocally, record sounded like shit and that used to be how we liked it.

here’s to God Speed and Burn, Burn, Burn going gold today and to never forgetting who you came in with.

thank you guys all so much, don’t deserve a second of it and I’ll never take it for granted. edit : was in fact not a fart but the porch.”

These days, Zach is a bona fide superstar, but he certainly hasn’t forgotten where he started or taken any of it for granted.
