LSU star basketball player Angel Reese went viral this past Sunday for mocking Iowa star player Caitlin Clark’s John Cena “You Can’t See Me” celebration, after the Tigers defeated the Hawkeyes 102-85 to win the Women’s College Basketball National Championship.

Clark had been rocking that move throughout the tournament on her way to one of the most impressive tournaments we’ve ever seen from a college basketball player.

Needless to say, Reese drew a lot of criticism on social media for the move, and even legendary NBA star Shaquille O’Neal had to defend her after sports talk show guy Keith Olbermann called her a:

“F*cking idiot”

Shaq responded:

“Shut your dumba** up leave angel reese alone”

And now, the woman who Reese was mimicking, Caitlin Clark, is speaking out about the gesture, and actually came in her defense.

Clark made an appearance on OTL and said:

“I think the biggest thing is we’re all competitive. We all show our emotions in a different way.

Angel is a tremendous, tremendous player. I have nothing but respect for her. I love her game, the way she rebounds the ball, scores the ball is absolutely incredible. I’m a big fan of her and even the entire LSU team.

Like I said, they played an amazing game so I don’t think there should be any criticism for what she did. I honestly didn’t see it when the game was going on and like I said, I haven’t been on social media really at all.”

Reese also made headlines once again for calling out First Lady Jill Biden, after she said that they should invite Iowa to come to the White House along with LSU to celebrate competing in the National Championship:

“I know we’ll have the champions come to the White House, we always do. So, we hope LSU will come.

But, you know, I’m going to tell Joe I think Iowa should come, too, because they played such a good game.”

That’s when Reese quote tweeted the article, and responded:

“A JOKE.”
