I accidentally saw this today…so now, you do too (my apologies).
Here I was, enjoying a gorgeous Tuesday afternoon, and everything was running smooth, until I found myself scrolling through Twitter, and boom, the day was ruined after this video popped up on my feed.
It’s going super viral right now… for all the wrong reasons.

I got a little nauseous when I heard:

And then the dance moves from the folks in the background that would make Ice JJ Fish look like Michael Jackson is just icing on the cake.

Now I’ll go ahead and say it… I’m 100% not bashing the mixing hip-hop and country music, or “Hick Hop,” as some like to call it.
It’s not my cup of tea for sure, but I think there are a few artists out there who know how to mix the perfect amount of the two genres, and next thing you know, it provides exposure to fans who may have not been fans of true country music before.
Just look at what Jelly Roll has done for instance. The guy started out rapping, and flash forward to today, has a major label record deal, just announced a massive headlining tour, and has brought a whole new sound and fanbase to mainstream country music, which is on the upswing.
But then you have this…
The artist’s name is Katie Noel, and credit to her, she’s actually has garnered a pretty large following on Spotify, racking up 385,284 monthly listeners (I’d like to bet they’re all from my hometown unfortunately, she’d probably sell 10,000 tickets here).
