The Turnpike Troubadours are full blown superstars.

Don’t get me wrong, they were already superstars before their hiatus, but ever since they started announcing shows again, it’s been on a whole other level. Selling out multiple nights at a time at legendary dancehalls, massive amphitheaters, huge arenas, and headlining big time country music festivals, the Turnpike Troubadours might be the most sought after ticket in country music.

And while they are still making relatively selective live appearances, they announced this morning the latest opportunity fans will have to see them.

The greatest country band of all time is taking their must-see show to Lubbock, Texas, this April.

“We’ll be making our return to Lubbock, TX on April 21st at United Supermarkets Arena. We’re thrilled to be doing this show with two of our all-time favorite acts Dawes and Jamie Lin Wilson

Presale tickets go live this Wed 2/22 at 10:00am CT – Public Onsale is this Fri 2/24 at 10:00am CT.”

If you are anywhere near Lubbock, or have the ability to get there for this show, I highly suggest you hop on that presale, because these tickets will sell out in a heartbeat. All Turnpike tickets do.

United Supermarkets Arena, home to the Texas Tech Red Raiders basketball teams and other athletics, seats 15,300 and is just the latest arena show Turnpike will sell out. With dates set on the calendar at arenas in San Antonio, Little Rock, Dallas, Houston, Tulsa, and now Lubbock, it has become reality that these are the top venues Turnpike will be playing from now on.

And that’s a good sign, in my opinion, for the general state of country music.

The lineup for these shows aren’t too bad either, and Lubbock is no exception. With support from Dawes, a legendary folk act in their own right, and Texas legend Jamie Lin Wilson, fans are guaranteed three spectacular acts will hit the stage. If you aren’t familiar with their music, here are my favorite songs by each.

“All Your Favorite Bands” – Dawes

“Death & Life” – Jamie Lin Wilson

Wilson has been a frequent collaborator with the Turnpike Troubadours over the years, and has provided vocal support on and co-written both “Call a Spade a Spade” from Goodbye Normal Street in 2012 and “Oklahoma Stars” off of A Long Way From Your Heart in 2017.

And as you can see in this video, Turnpike has even been known to bring Wilson on stage with them in the past, so fans may be in for some awesome duets at this show.

And since you can never listen to too much Turnpike, here are a few of my favorites.

“Diamonds & Gasoline” – Diamonds & Gasoline (2010)

“The Bird Hunters” – The Turnpike Troubadours (2015)

“Good Lord Lorrie” – Goodbye Normal Street (2012)
