Appalachian State Football Recruit Signed His National Letter Of Intent At His Favorite Waffle House

Appalachian State football life

Get this guy on the field ASAP…

Today marks the start of the early signing period in the world of college football, which means it’s the day that high school seniors all across the country are signing their National Letter of Intent contract.

The prerequisite to the official National Signing Day (the deadline for recruits to officially commit to a college), it means that schools all over the country officially have their newest batch of recruits and freshman class of players.

After months, and sometimes years, of hitting the recruiting trail after a certain player, and tons of meetings, it’s a big deal for everyone in involved, including the coaches and colleges. But obviously, it’s a huge deal especially for the players, who usually sign their contracts in their high school school gym or somewhere of that nature.

But not Cayden Sweatt.

Cayden, an offensive lineman from Bremen, Georgia, signed his contract to play football at Appalachian State University at the local Breman Waffle House… talk about a power move.

As an App State alum and Waffle House lover myself, I couldn’t be more excited to have him joining the team next year.

He shared some photos from the WaHo, saying in part:

“Thank you to every school and coach who has given me the opportunity to play at the next level. I’m super happy to officially be a Mountaineer.”

Looks like a great NIL deal might already be in his future…

His dad, Steven Sweatt, says it was the gathering place for many post-game celebrations, so it was a natural decision for Cayden to sign there.

He also shared a few photos from the event, featuring some great photos of Cayden with his friends, family and some of the Waffle House waiters and waitresses:

Talk about an All-Star (sorry, I had to).

Welcome to the Mountaineer family, Cayden. There’s really no place on earth like Boone, North Carolina, and don’t worry… there’s a great Waffle House not too far from Kidd Brewer Stadium.
