Most of us grew up watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas, whether it was the cartoon movie or the live action one with Jim Carrey as Mr. Grinch.
It’s a Christmas movie staple, and it’s always a good one to go back to no matter how old you are, every time the holidays roll around.

This may be taking things a step too far in Christmas movie fandom.
A video has gone viral of a dog owner getting her dog groomer to dye her dog’s fur completely green and red, and dressing it up in a Santa Claus costume, replicating when the Grinch posed as Santa and tried to ruin everybody’s Christmas.
The caption read:
“When your groomer slays making your dog into the Grinch”
Alright, from first look it may be a little funny, but the pup doesn’t seem to be enjoying it. Although, dogs vision really only picks up blues and yellows (they’re not colorblind like most people think), so who knows what his costume really looks like to his own eye.
Nevertheless, the TikToker got roasted in the comments, with several calling it “animal abuse.”
The comments are filled with statements like:
“Kinda looks like animal abuse to me”
“Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should”
“Poor puppy”
“I just.. wouldn’t.”
“Is this even legal”
“Abuse”
“No, the poor puppy.”
And granted, plenty of other people supported the move, but still, there’s always some uneasiness with the idea of dying your pet’s fur.

However, the dog owner followed up with a video showing her dog looking happy, sarcastically saying:

Of course, the dye will eventually ware off, and there was no ill-will behind the owner’s intentions, but sheesh, I couldn’t imagine the confusion that was going through that dog’s mind.
But it looks like she isn’t the only one…
