Pony Bradshaw has done it again.
The acclaimed singer/songwriter has officially dropped his latest two singles, “Holler Rose” and “A Free, Roving Mind,” for his upcoming album, North Georgia Rounder, slated to drop on January 27th, 2023.
Now, if you aren’t too familiar with Bradshaw, then there’s one thing you need to know off the bat. The guy knows how to tell a story, with lyrics so compelling that you can picture the song in your head like scenes from a movie.
And that statement reigns true for his two latest singles.
“Holler Rose” grabs your attention immediately with an incredibly deep opening line:
“I wiped away the tears like they was flies on a melon”
The song is a gorgeous, fiddle-filled song that will have you feeling like you’re watching the sunset over the Appalachian mountains.
And for “A Free, Roving Mind,” it’s a steel-soaked song that appears to be a conversation Bradshaw is having with himself as he’s going on a long drive.
Bradshaw also discussed the new album he has in the works, calling it his best work to date:
“The poet soon stops experimenting and innovating and starts his life’s work.”
He also describes the new album as a culmination of:
“Sweat and work and joy and pain and anger and patience and restraint.”
