For those who aren’t college football fans, let me fill ya in.

Mississippi sports anchor Jon Sokoloff tweeted out that Ole Miss head football coach Lane Kiffin would be leaving Ole Miss for the head coaching position at Auburn, saying:

“BREAKING: Ole Miss HC Lane Kiffin plans to step down as the Rebels coach Friday and head to Auburn to become the Tigers next head coach, according to sources

Sources say the Tigers haven’t officially offered the job to anyone yet

So Lane to Auburn is happening.

Story soon.”

Of course, Sokoloff is the first guy to share any kind of information like this, and nobody else has confirmed the news.

Kiffin himself even responded with a quote tweet saying:

“That’s news to me Jon. Nice sources”

Kiffin also hilariously tweeted this out shortly after:

“BREAKING NEWS: JON SOKOLOFF OF #WCBINEWS IN STARKVILLE MS. PLANS TO STEP DOWN AS LEAD ANCHOR AND HEAD TO #WLOX TO BECOME THEIR NEW LEAD ANCHOR.

SOURCES SAY WLOX HASN’T OFFERED THE JOB TO ANYONE YET.

SO JON TO WLOX IS HAPPENING.

STORY SOON.”

Kiffin has been the head coach at Ole Miss for three seasons, and there’s one thing for certain about the polarizing head coach…

He can’t seem to stay in one place for long.

Seriously, his longest coaching stint in his extensive career has lasted only four seasons at USC, and has held a total of five head coaching jobs since he got into coaching back in 1997.

Not to mention, no coach will ever confess to leaving for another school during the season, because they don’t want the team to lose focus or turn against them.

Nevertheless, Kiffin swears he’ll be staying at Ole Miss, but his track record states the opposite.

Where there is smoke, there is usually fire… I guess we’ll find out for certain here soon.
