I already like this song 1000 times better.
Kip Moore put out two new live performance videos of his recent singles, “If I Was Your Lover” and “Fire On Wheels.”
He actually just released the duet version of “If I Was Your Lover” with Morgan Wade last week, and of course, Morgan made the most of her short verse, belting her heart out and of course totally nailing it in the process.
But I have to say, the production on that version wasn’t necessarily my favorite, and I like the song way more on this acoustic, stripped back version where Kip’s vocals always shine the brightest.
Though he’s an artist who constantly pushes himself and his sound to new or different places, which I appreciate about him, you just can’t beat hearing his soulful and gritty voice in a setting like this:
And as for “Fire on Wheels,” he put that out as a single back in June, and it definitely leans into that southern rock sound we’ve heard from him in the past on albums like Wild Ones.
I can definitely see this one doing well at a live show, so it’s fun to see him perform it here with his band with a production that you’re very likely to hear out on the road as part of his Fire On Wheels tour that just kicked off.
