In the college football world, all eyes have been on Arch Manning, the nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning, as we’ve anticipated his commitment for quite some time.

Now, the wait is finally over, and the number one recruit for the class of 2023 has officially committed to the Texas Longhorns, over Georgia, Alabama, LSU, Clemson, and Virginia.

Arch is the star quarterback at Isidore Newman High School in New Orleans, Louisiana, and has been widely considered a major prospect since he was in middle school, according to ESPN.

Many were surprised to see that neither Tennessee or Ole Miss were in the young quarterback’s top choices, considering Peyton played for the Volunteers, and his dad (Cooper), Eli and his grandpa Archie played for Ole Miss.

Nevertheless, it appears Arch is ready to create his own legacy at a new school, and could be the starting quarterback in 2025 when Texas joins the SEC.

And for Texas, this is huge news for head coach Steve Sarkisian, considering he’s coming off a 5-7 season in his first year for the Longhorns, and now he has landed two top quarterbacks, as former number one QB Quinn Ewers transferred to Texas this spring from Ohio State.

Ivan Melendez Calls Jason Aldean’s Music “Trash” After “Horns Down” Sign

Speaking of Texas, we can’t forget when star baseball player Ivan Melendez absolutely torched Jason Aldean for giving the “Horns Down” sign.

Any college sports fan knows that University of Texas fans give the “Horns Up” sign more times than they even say hello, as they continue to live in denial that their sports just ain’t what they used to be (particularly football… good luck winning in the SEC).

So, in response, it’s become America’s favorite tradition to give the “Horns Down” sign to Texas fans whenever they take a heartbreaking loss (or pretty much… whenever).

Texas baseball was ended up being pretty damn good this year, after going into the season as the number one team in the country and shaking off a cold start to punch their ticket to the College World Series.

Needless to say, baseball fans and University of Texas haters alike are giving a lot less “Horns Down” signs, as the Longhorns may be the hottest baseball team in the country right now.

However, one country music star is still flaunting the “Horns Down” sign like there’s no tomorrow…

And it’s no other than Jason Aldean.

A fan caught up with him at the golf course recently, and the two posed for a picture flaunting the famous sign.

So, in response?

Texas’ best player and Big-12 player of the year, Ivan Melendez, responded on his Instagram story by saying:

“His music trash anyways”

GOT ‘EM.

Ya gotta love the gamesmanship here.

Although I may be an all-time Texas Longhorns hater, this may be the best comeback of 2022 thus far.

Of course, much like Texas football, most country music fans will agree that Aldean’s music just ain’t what it used to be (pre-2010 Aldean will forever be supreme), so I may have to side with Melendez on this one, as much as that pains me to say.

And it looks like Aldean might have cost himself a couple fans in Austin (can’t imagine there’s a lot of them):
