Fishing Dogs Are A New Concept, But I’d Watch These Good Boys Fish Any Day

We’ve all seen the goodest of the good boy’s all trained up, excited for their person to shoot a duck.

Whether it’s a retriever, pointer or a shed hunting dog, they are just all impressive.

Just good boys.

Now the concept that a dog can dual as a fishing dog never really occurred to me until quit recently when I saw it happen with my own two eyes.

I mean, I’ve seen lots of dogs that are interested or maybe confused by a fishing flopping around on deck after being caught be a person. Some go right up to them others stay far back.

The idea that a dog could actually catch one of these fish itself seems a little far fetched until you watch this video.

The video starts with a dog looking and trying to grab something that is moving around in the water. It’s not until he grabs its tail and lifts the massive fish out of the water that you realize this dog is actually catching fish.

Now, I’m sure this isn’t the most lively of fish, maybe even at the end of its life. But for a dog to go out and catch it will its moving and have a great carrying technique like this is nothing short of impressive.

The good boy wrestles the fish a bit but gets it right into shore. Like any proper fisherman, as soon as the nice catch is landed the dog sprints back out into the water looking for more.

The dog gets ahold of another quickly and has the carry figured out this time. He gets it back into shore and goes back for more.

This fishing dog just can’t get enough of it, and the pair of dogs continue to pull fish in.

Good catch for the good boys.
