Just when I thought this list of examples of Urban Meyer being a complete asshole couldn’t get any longer.
Aside from the bashing of players and coaches, and getting caught with a girl dancing on him at a bar, we haven’t heard of any instances where Meyer has actually gotten physical…
Until now.
According to The Tampa Bay Times, former Jaguars kicker Josh Lambo may have gotten the worst of the Urban rage, as he claims that he was constantly bullied by the coach, and was even got kicked one time.
Lambo said he was often called a “dipshit” and “Shitbag,” and even kicked him in August camp.
He recalled the instance:
“I’m in a lunge position, left leg forward, right leg back… Urban Meyer, while I’m in that stretch position, comes up to me and says, ‘Hey dipshit,’ make your fucking kicks.’ And kicked me in the leg.”
Even though he said he wasn’t kicked very hard, he did admit that it was a shitty move:
“It certainly wasn’t as hard as he could’ve done it, but it certainly wasn’t a love tap. Truthfully, I’d register it as a five (out of 10).”
Lambo then said he confronted Meyer about the situation at the team facility, and he said the 57-year-old got aggressive.
He says Meyer responded:
“If you ever speak to me like that again, you’ll be out of here.
You’re the first player I’ve ever let speak to me that way in my career, and if you do it again, you’re gone.”
Yeah, sounds about Urban. Not taking responsibility of your own actions and taking it out on somebody else.
The former Jags kicker said he spoke with his agent about it, but has no recollection of having any access to the Jags legal team to discuss it.
And of course, Meyer denied the claims as he does:
“Josh’s characterization of me in this incident is completely inaccurate, and there are eyewitnesses to refute his account.
I was fully supportive of Josh during his time with the team, and wish him nothing but the best.”
