Man, I might be having to make a trip up to Chicago soon.
I gotta say, Home Alone is one of my all-time favorite Christmas movies, and has been since I was about five-years-old.
I mean c’mon, watching Macaulay Culkin (aka Kevin McCallister in the movie) absolutely obliterate the sticky bandits with booby traps after he was stranded at the house alone?
That’s some serious comedy.
Even though the stairs of that house do give me PTSD every time I see them. Throwback to when I was six and thought it was a good idea to ride my boogie board down the stairs of my house after watching Kevin do it on the sled…
Needless to say, it’s a miracle I didn’t break my neck after running straight into the door.
Anyways, if you’re a huge fan of Home Alone, and have always dreamed of staying in the house that was used for the movie, well you’re in luck.
According to TMZ, the Home Alone mansion will be turned into an Airbnb.
However, it’s only for a night… December 12th.
As the movie franchise gears up for the upcoming release of Home Sweet Home Alone, Buzz McCallister will be hosting an overnight stay at the Chicago home.
The Airbnb is offered to four guests, and I know what you’re probably thinking…
“Ah, I’d have to pay out the ass for this.”
Think again. It’s only $25 to stay.
The house will be decked out in Christmas decorations, just like it was in the movie.
Not to mention, the house will be stuffed with your favorite ’90s junk food, and the finest Chicago style pizza around, and a candlelit Kraft Mac and Cheese dinner, Kevin McCallister style.
And of course, with Buzz hosting, there will be a meet and greet with a real life tarantula.
On top of that, there is a LEGO set of the house if you’re into that, and you’ll be able to be one of the first to watch Home Sweet Home Alone during your stay.
This will be the first time the house has ever opened its doors to the public, and bookings start December 7-12 for the stay. Airbnb will also be making donations to Chicago’s La Rabida Children’s Hospital as celebration.
