Rob Gronkowski Admits That He Actually Watches “Tons” Of Film After Monday Night Football Appearance With Peyton & Eli

And the truth comes out.

Just this past Monday, Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski dropped a bomb on Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli Manning, claiming that he never watches film before games.

Granted, I didn’t believe him for a second, especially being on a team with Tom Brady, but with Gronk, you never know.

He told the brothers:

“I just run by guys, and if I’m feelin’ good, I’m feelin’ good… I actually do go up to Tom (Brady) ’cause Tom watches like, I don’t know, 40 hours of film a week.

I go, ‘Tom, who’s covering me this week? What type of coverages are they doing?’ I go, ‘That’s why I love playing for you dawg. You just know everything.'”

Now if there’s one thing we know about Gronk, you can never take the man seriously. You just can’t…

So of course, when he’s on TV with the Manning boys, he’s gonna take his opportunity and run with it.

Naturally, he cleared the air in a Bucs press conference, stating that he actually does watch film:

“I actually watch tons of film. An overload of film. I will probably blame Nelson (Luis) over there. He asked me eight times to go on the show. I told him, ‘It’s not a good idea.’ They always get me in that type of silly atmosphere, and that’s what happened.

Now Coach (Bruce Arians) threatened me. I don’t get my vet day anymore.

Trust me, I watch so much film that my girlfriend gets mad at me. She friggin’ throws sh*t at me sometimes, I’m watching so much film.

Sometimes I go home and she’s like, ‘You’ve been gone all day and now you’re studying, you’ve got your iPad out,’ and I’m like, ‘Yeah, I’ve gotta get into it. I gotta learn.'”

So for any of you Bucs fans who were stressing on Monday night about your starting tight end playing games unprepared, fear no more.

His on the field play speaks for itself though. He’s caught four touchdowns for 129 yards in only two games.

The statement did spark some hilarious tweets though:
