You’ll Win $100,000 For Catching This Tagged Tennessee Smallmouth Bass

What if I told you that you could pocket $100,000 in cash for simply catching a fish?

Well, you’d be in luck if you want to head down to South Holston Lake in Tennessee.

According to WCYB, Watson’s Marine is giving away cash to the lucky fisherman who can catch a specific smallmouth bass that they tagged and put in the lake.

Here are the rules:

The contest starts on Saturday June 12, at 12:01 am and goes through June 13 at 11:59 pm. Fishermen can use any bait of their choice but the fish must be caught on rod and reel.

You do not have to sign up in advance, simply show up and you’re good to go.

“Now most of us around this area will easily recognize what this is , and of course it’s a smallmouth bass.

But starting June 12th at 12:01 am and extending until June 13th at 11:59pm, a smallmouth bass very similar to the one pictured will be swimming in South Holston lake with a tag, and if you are fortunate enough to catch this tagged bass, affectionately named Ol Walter 2.0 , you will receive $100,000!

Yes you saw that right, catch the tagged bass during the above mentioned dates and times and you will win $100,000! No entry fee or registration necessary, any baits live or artificial may be used and it must be caught on rod and reel.

So good luck and look out Walter.”

The fish is named “Ol Walter 2.0” (kind of curious what happened to Ol Walter 1.0).

Naturally, I have some questions….

How many fish are in this lake?

Can you just stay out there for 48 hours straight?

Where is the fish getting dropped into the lake and can we see it?

The lake is over 7,500 acres, it might be nice to have a hint where I should be looking for this thing.

Moral of the story: Get your best bait, your best fishing buddy, maybe a cold beer to two, and get down to South Holston Lake to win some cold hard cash.
