Lady Gaga is hitting the campaign trail in Pennsylvania today, joining Presidential nominee Joe Biden just one day before the election.
On Saturday however, Gaga shared a video to Twitter with her official endorsement of Joe, although her “I’m voting for America” approach seemed to fall pretty flat with the Twittersphere.
Posted up next to a pickup truck, wearing all camo (and some weird boots), Lady Gaga encouraged fans in swing states to vote for Joe while drinking a beer (and by drinking, I mean taking one sip and throwing the rest on the ground). Definitely not, how rednecks do it.
“Hey. This is Lady Gaga. I’m voting for America, which means I’m voting for Joe Biden. And if you live in Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, Florida, or Arizona, I encourage you to vote. And if you have a friend that lives there, tell them to vote. I’m gonna be in one of these states tomorrow. Guess which one I’ll be in? Hint: I used to live there. Cheers to the 2020 election.”
And while some called it an appeal to Conservatives, many saw it as a mockery the rural voters of Middle America. A corny caricature of country folks.
Is this parody? Because if it’s not they’re just mocking middle America.

I scrolled through Twitter yesterday and I thought that Lady Gaga thing was a joke. Today I turned on the news and realized it really was Lady Gaga mocking Texans/Trump supporters. Who is advising Joe Biden?

I know you’re more intelligent than to believe this will be an effective way to reach rural voters. The only other explanation is that you’re mocking g them – which is gonna backfire; bigly

If I understand correctly she is trying to get “americans” to vote? As if lady gaga basically mocking the stereotypical american is going to do much..

Very disappointed in Lady Gaga. I honestly don’t care what your political affiliation is. Support who you want because that’s what AMERICA is about. But you just offended a very large group of your fans by mocking them. Just sad.

Yay! Another celebrity mocking people who support Trump. I bet that will get them to change their minds. 🙄

I can’t stop watching the Lady Gaga video. Is she mocking the people she’s trying to convince to vote for Biden?

And even people that were admittedly fans of Gaga didn’t understand the angle.
Either this is making fun of middle America or Gaga (who I love) believes middle Americans will be persuaded by beer, a truck, and camo.
As someone who hails from the Midwest – I can tell you this video does nothing for Joe Biden. https://t.co/K1GKvf1ySp

It’s gonna be a long week, isn’t it?
