A beautiful peak into their newlywed life.

Today, Lainey Wilson released a new song called “Kinda Love It,” which is about her husband Devlin “Duck” Hodges whom she married in May. They had a gorgeous wedding in Tennessee on Mother’s Day earlier this year, and she has talked about how, before she met him and fell in love, she didn’t write love songs because she simply wasn’t inspired to.

He ultimately inspired her song 4X4XU,” which was a chart topper at country radio.

They met through mutual friends, and Lainey often talks about how supportive Duck is with her career, and they seem like a great match that have already gone through a lot of change together during the course of their relationship with Lainey’s stardom exploding.

Lainey previously told Vogue that it was a beautiful spring day, and she came in on a white horse-drawn carriage, of course walking down the aisle with her dad. They were married by friend Wes Williams, and Lainey and Duck also took communion together during the ceremony.

It sounds (and looks) like a fairy tale, and Lainey of course made an absolutely stunning bride, all of the photos are just gorgeous, and it looks like it was a really beautiful day filled with love.

They went to Sedona for a few days for their honeymoon, and she told Extra TV  not long ago that they had the time of their lives:

“Oh my gosh, I mean, probably the first time that we actually got to see each other. That was really special. But just having our family and friends there, and it was a party. When we left the wedding, we were in the back of the truck thinking, like, people are going to be talking about this wedding forever. We had that much fun, we were hyping ourselves up.”

It’s been about six months since they said “I do,” and during an interview with Entertainment Tonight a few weeks ago, Lainey opened up about newlywed life, joking that she hasn’t “gotten rid of him yet,” and added that it’s been “absolutely incredible” so far and said Duck is the best thing that’s ever happened to her:

“I hadn’t gotten rid of him yet. That probably surprises him. No, I’m playing. It’s been absolutely incredible. It just feels good. It feels like we’re just like turning the page into this  beautiful chapter.

I mean he’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me. I’m telling you. He’s a good man.”

So sweet…

And it seems like he’s continuing to inspire her music, as she co-wrote “Kinda Love It” with a big name in John Mayer, as well as Kid Harpoon and Jon Decious, and Mayer also plays guitar on the song.

The lyrics find her admitting that, even though she didn’t think she’d ever settle down, she’s in love with her life and how it is now:

“He’s a wild card in a stacked deck
He’s some rough hands around a longneck
Never can tell what he’ll say next
One card shy of a runaway train wreck

I got a tiger by the tail
If it goes to hell, oh well
And if it kills me, no, I ain’t above it
Yeah, I hate to say it, but man, I kinda love it
I got a place to keep his boots
If he ever puts down roots
I said I wouldn’t, but damn, I went and done it
Yeah, I hate to say it, but man, I kinda love it”

Lainey has worked with Mayer before, they previously teamed up on “Phone, Keys, Wallet” as Mayer played guitar, which he did again on this new one.

It’s fun to hear this side of Lainey, the production it a little bit different than anything she’s done before, and I’m sure Duck is loving having all these beautiful love songs written about him. The  music video is really sweet too, where you see them riding around their Tennessee property on a four-wheeler and living their best life.

It’s super sweet, and you can check it out here:
